June 2010.
I have returned from my fantastic journey to London and Europe. The exhibition in London at The Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery, was a great experience, having my work hanging in the Bloomsbury area of London, which is steeped in a rich artistic heritage, was a privilege. And also working with the renowned gallery owner Rebecca Hossack was a treat.
The Preview of my recent show ' In and Out of Norfolk', at Rebecca's was very exciting. Friends came from far and wide to be there and Patrick and Karen Le Chanu (authors of the book) especially came from France for the event. William the Earl of Huntingdon gave a fantastic opening speech that I was bowled over by it's eloquence and wide reaching references to art, gardening and sense of place! This also was incredibly humbling and special. If you would like to view a recording of this speech on You Tube please go to the About page of this website.Or the link is just below

Here is a brief summary of what the book is about.
What place does landscape painting hold in the twenty-first century? The rise of abstraction and conceptualism, and the dominance of ‘contemporary art’, has mostly eclipsed landscape painting – but Jill Kempson is an artist who transcends art styles and genres.
Patrick Le Chanu has known Kempson and followed her artistic evolution for more than twenty years. In bringing together the artist’s extensive body of work, Le Chanu shows us how ‘landscape painting has the capacity to express all the colours and dimensions of the human soul’.
Originally written in French, Landscape in Perspective is here meticulously translated by Karen Le Chanu.
Landscape in Perspective demonstrates that, in artists such as Kempson, easel painting remains relevant and vibrant, with landscape painting at the heart of the great concerns of our time.
